Selection at Bradys

Well the first two selection races are over and I got through it pretty well. I arrived on Friday morning and had one hour training on the water in the afternoon. I paddled well and really enjoyed the fast powerful water. And the weather was pretty sweet, seeing it didnt snow and the sun was out for most of the days which was great change from last year!

The first race course was pretty hard with a nice right hand upstream on the cruncher to start and then a up on pretty much the same wire! The bottom of the course was pretty good and I came through the last gate feeling pretty happy with how I went, apart from the touches, which were numerous… which was not good!! I finished 7th over all on the Saturday, which was pretty good as there were a lot of 50’s.

The second day was something new for Australian selection, with only the first run counting to selection. I had a good run, but again touches let me down. Unfortunatly i had a good run time, but i need to clean it up! I finished 7th again but once again came out unscathed from the 50’s!

Im currently sitting in a ok position for 22’s, but I still have work to do at the next two selection races this Friday and Saturday. Once again Saturday will be in the one run format.
