The Tassie weather put on a show as per usual. We had two great days of sunny clear weather on Wednesday and Thursday when we traveled to Broken Bridge to do some training. Thursday afternoon the clouds started to roll in and Friday morning the real weather set in!! It rained pretty much all Friday and was quite cold! But the best part of it all was waking up to fresh snow on Saturday morning!! Yipee!! It was quite exciting and can i just say frickin freezing to be out paddling all day!
The morning saw me trudging around in the snow with no shoes on. I was almost brought to tears by the sharp pain in my feet! I will definitely wear booties next time! Although my pink Crocs came in handy for the afternoon, which by that time most of the snow had been melted! It was then freezing for Sunday as well, as the wind came up and most people were just relieved to get changed for the last time into warm gear! After the races it was time to pack up and head home! Well to Launceston for the night, wear Dunc and I ate pizza with Tommy, Bruce, Toad, Glen and Chris! And then early to bed for a good sleep! The plane was full of paddlers on the way home and it was cool to hang around with everyone on the same flight!! I luckily got to drive straight to an exam after getting off the flight! Man it was a long day!! I stole some pictures from Tommy of our cold time in Tassie!
Hopefully the next race is in just under 2 weeks and hopefully all will go well!
Before we left I had to say goodbye to my lovely friend Fritzi, who i miss very much already!! (Hey Fritzi, hope home is good!!) We had a great bbq for her at her house where heaps of people turned up! All the international teams have left now! All going back to gear themselves up for selection! Apart from that ive got a little bit of uni work to do and a bit of training before the next race!! So i may not blog again for a little while! ill try and keep you posted!!
